🚧 Star Citizen Roadmap Roundup: Major Mission Additions, Wikelo Specials, and More (May 7, 2025)

The latest Roadmap Roundup is live, bringing exciting progress to Star Citizen’s path toward version 1.0. The May 7th update from Cloud Imperium Games introduces new mission types, balance updates for ships and weapons, and unique additions from the mysterious Wikelo. Let’s take a closer look at the key changes from this week’s update.


🛠️ Release View: What’s New in Patch 4.1+

🔧 New Mission Types

  • Missions – Local Site Maintenance
    Players will now encounter tasks focused on hands-on maintenance—replacing fuses, fixing pipes, and using the multi-tool to perform RMC repairs. Expect these to show up first in Pyro outposts.
  • Missions – Animal Population Control
    Wildlife control contracts are entering the game, providing variety and environmental interaction in the PU.
  • Mission – Hunt the Polaris
    A special mission for Fleet Week: A stolen Polaris must be tracked across Stanton and taken down. This rare mission can be shared with others, but only one instance is active at a time. A temporary reward will be granted for now.

💇‍♂️ Cosmetics and Gear

  • New Hairstyles (4.1.1)
    Four new hairstyle options will be added to help pilots express themselves even more in the ‘verse.
  • VOLT SMG “Quartz”
    A new compact submachine gun offering big firepower in a small frame—perfect for close-quarters combat.

🔧 Gameplay Tuning and Ship Updates

  • Component Balance Pass
    Shields and ship components are being balanced by class type for better combat fairness.
  • Wikelo Special Ships (4.1.1)
    More exclusive ships are now available through Wikelo’s Emporium, including:
    • MISC Starlancer MAX
    • Aegis Sabre Firebird & Peregrine
    • RSI Zeus ES & CL
    • Crusader Intrepid
      Unlockable via in-game favors.


Recently Released Features (Retroactive 4.1.0)

  • Item Recovery T0
    Died with gear equipped? You now respawn with it—no more losing that precious loadout.
  • Collision Physics Update
    Damage is now calculated using actual physics—mass and velocity matter when crashing.
  • Heavy Fighter & Grenade Launcher Balance
    Updates aim to make heavy fighters feel more distinct and grenade launchers more skill-based.
  • Ship Updates
    • Caterpillar: Side elevators improved
    • 300i: Cargo railing removed
    • SRV: Fuel storage boosted
    • Starlancer MAX & Hornet: Mass tweaks for better handling
  • Turret Syncing Improvements
    Reclaimer, Carrack, Valkyrie, Raft, and Starlifter now have turrets linked to pilot weapons—better coordination in combat.
  • More Wikelo Specials (4.1.0)
    Includes high-end ships like:
    • Anvil F8C Lightning (Sneak & War)
    • RSI Polaris & Scorpius
    • Mirai Guardian, and more.

📈 Progress Tracker Additions

  • Radiation Gameplay is now being tracked—expect environmental hazards to play a bigger role soon.
  • Several REDACTED locations, creatures, vehicles, and sandbox activities have been added, hinting at major upcoming content.
